UC Santa Cruz Student Housing West Renewable Energy (Hagar)
Santa Cruz, California
Innovative renewable energy system serving the Hagar Site of Student Housing West campus expansion at UC Santa Cruz. The system is foundational to helping the project achieve UCSC’s aggressive sustainability goals.
Serving the Hagar Site of UC Santa Cruz’s $500M Student Housing West campus expansion, the renewable energy system will utilize solar PV to generate electricity and solar thermal to provide hot water. No natural gas will be used in the development. Combined with efficient building design, the renewable energy systems will help the project achieve its net-zero carbon goal.
Public Private Partnership (P3) Delivery
The system is being financed, developed and managed through a long-term public-private partnership (P3) between UC Santa Cruz and Puttman Infrastructure, Inc.
